Ants are themselves a big nuisance, finding flying ants worsens the problems. However, flying ants is merely a stage in the whole life cycle of ants. Flying ants invade your house at a particular time of the year which is mostly the summers.

When the number of ants in the colony of the nests reaches to a certain point, the queen and some other members develop wings and start a journey in search of a new place for making nests. During the flight, the winged queen mates with the male members after which her wings shed off, and she falls on the ground. After this it starts hunting for a new place to make the nests and start a new colony.

If you locate a few flying ants, then it’s better to kill them at that point, otherwise they would start a new colony and more and more ants would be born.

First and the foremost point to be kept in mind on how to get rid of flying ants is keep your home clean. Ants are mainly attracted to dirty and unclean houses, especially the kitchen.

Carefully inspect from where the ants are entering your house. There might be a big colony developing inside your house or nearby.

If you locate a few ants, you can kill them easily by hitting them with a newspaper or any other object.

Seal all the cracks on doors or windows if any to avoid their entry into the house. The gap between the door and the floor beneath must be covered by sprinkling a little talcum powder in order to make a line which would act as an ant repellent. You can also seal the entry points by spraying soapy water or some vinegar.

Once you locate the nests it would be easier for you to get rid of the flying ants. Use boric acid powder bait to kill the ants or sprinkle some boric acid at the site.

Get rid of any wood debris or pile of moist wood lying in or around your house. Ants prefer to stay near moist places like beneath the wash basin, behind the bathroom tiles, etc.

When disposing off a juice or beverage can either throw it in the trash bin outside your house or rinse the can with water and then throw it. Usually people throw the cans which have some amount of the content left, which attracts the ants.

Clean the dishes properly before going to sleep. Unclean and dirty dishes attract the ants which are super active during the dark.

Cover the leftovers or seal them in an airtight container in order to keep the flying ants at bay.

Add a little amount of home bleach and disinfectant to your mop before mopping the floor. This would keep away the flying ants.
